Our drama classes cater for the individual needs of children, youth and adults in a supportive, positive environment. Action Drama Studio has the following classes on offer in Diamond Creek: Wednesday Primary (5-12), 5:00pm - 6:00pm Youth (13-17), 6:00 - 7:30pm. The curriculum is informed by the latest research in education and is designed to meet the needs of all. The safe and encouraging class environment allows students ongoing opportunities to be creative, feel relaxed and have heaps of fun. Parents have the opportunity to see end of term presentations and term 4 is preparation for production in a theatre. Children work in pairs, scene development, groups and with the whole class to experience improvisation, plays and script work. The curriculum includes confidence building exercises, acting skills for Film, movement, voice work, role play for social skills, public speaking, TV and Theatre. Action Drama Studio Primary Classes are suitable for children with a whole range of confidence levels. In Term 3 students begin to develop their own ideas for the development of a performance at the end of term 4. Term 4 is spent rehearsing for this production. Students are challenged to develop their own acting strengths and style. The curriculum is informed by the latest research in education and is designed to meet the needs of all. The safe and encouraging class environment allows students ongoing opportunities to be creative, feel relaxed, take risks and explore a wide range of acting methods. Students work in pairs, devising of scenes, script development, improvisation, groups and with the whole class to experience acting exercises, plays and script work. The curriculum includes public speaking, acting skills for Film, movement, voice work, role play, TV and Theatre. Action Drama Studio Youth Classes are suitable for teenagers with a whole range of confidence levels and drama experience. Every class at action drama studio has a teacher and a teacher assistant who both have qualifications and experience in education and/or professional acting. We aim to instill and encourage the following skills in personal development and acting: confidence, managing shyness, social skills, overcoming nervousness, public speaking, leadership skills, positive thinking, emotional intelligence, making friends, communication skills, acting for career, acting for fun, healthy self-esteem, influencing others and problem solving.
