Our philosophy is to bear premium wines from estate grown fruit ripened to optimum levels and matured in choice quality little oak barrels. We aim to release our wines behind ample bottle development to display their full potential. The soil structure is shallow Frey loam over mud stone which together with the average rainfall of around 500mm (in a appropriate year!) The soil comprises Frey loam over mud stone. Aged in a combination of new and used French and American oak barriques for a least of two years earlier to bottling. We use handpicked fruit, small basket presses and a variety of fermenters (ranging from picking bins to 400L stainless steel tanks), to provide individual batches from these various vineyards. A no nonsense, sincere Golden Ale made by the opted family farmers, growers and damn appropriate beer craters. A light lunch is perpetual available to appreciate sitting on the veranda overlooking the marvelous views (or come internal where it’s hot if the weather is not great). Shaw Road Winery includes a tasting area and ca, and can comfortably accommodate 60 people. Wide, fully enclosed verandas conceal the outdoor eating area, which allows for visitors to dine in comfort in all weathers, overlooking the magnificent views to the King lake Ranges. We can also cater for little private functions by arrangement, including birthday parties, celebrations and wine tasting events for your club or group.
